The Upstate Connect Fund Program (UCFP) is here to provide financial assistance to Nigerian individuals affiliated with the Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC) who aspire to serve God as they pursue higher education opportunities in the United States. We understand that economic obstacles can hinder your ability to cover the initial expenses associated with graduate school applications. Our dedicated UCFP advisors are ready to work closely with you, guiding and supporting you every step to secure fully-funded US university admissions. Ensure you meet all the specified requirements before you apply.
Please note that UCFP is borne out of the desire to expand God's kingdom in DLBC Rochester, NY.
Requirements to be considered for UCFP:
- Must have First Class Honor (Second Class Honor with publications MIGHT be considered).
- Must have a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) certificate.
- Must show financial need.
- Must be willing to enroll in a Ph.D. program (BSc can apply directly for PhD - MSc is not mandatory).
- Must be affiliated with DLBC, Nigeria.
- Must be willing to fellowship with DLBC Rochester, NY.
Approved schools (selected UCFP candidates must apply to four of the colleges listed below):
- University of Rochester
- Rochester Institute of Technology
- University of Buffalo
- Clarkson University
- Buffalo State University
- Syracuse University
Note: Applicants can explore other colleges near Rochester, NY
The following application documents are needed for UCFP:
- Passport photo
- International Passport
- Copy of unofficial university transcript
- Copy of degree certificate/statement of Result
- Resume (2 pages max)
- Copy of GRE result (Recommended for Engineering students) - optional
The following are the expenses covered by UCFP:
- Application fees for four schools
- Duolingo exam
- SEVIS fee (loan)*
- Visa fee (loan)*
- Flight ticket (loan)*
Note: The provided loan has no interest! Successful candidates MUST refund the loan after they settle in the US. Installment payment is allowed.
The deadline for UCFP application (to be considered for FALL 2025) is June 8, 2025.
